'The 100' Series Finale: Eliza Taylor brought Clarke to life effortlessly, fans thank her for amazin

Eliza Taylor had to bring to life one of TV's most complicated characters, one that became an anti-hero by the end of it all

Spoiler for 'The 100'

It takes a whole lot for a television show to come together and it takes even more for it to stay on the air for seven seasons. Not many shows have succeeded in going that far, and not many have succeeded in keeping viewer interest all the way till the end. However, The CW's 'The 100' managed to do just that as Jason Rothenberg's adaptation of Kass Morgan's book of the same name became one of the most revered television shows in the science-fiction genre.

Of course, 'The 100' is Clarke Griffin's (Eliza Taylor) story. It started with Clarke and ended with Clarke as we followed her through seven seasons while she made the decisions to help save her people. She bore it so that no one else would have to and this was absolutely clear from the very first season, with the Season 2 finale cementing it. After Clarke pulled the lever to end the Mount Weather danger, she went off on her own unable to bear the guilt, becoming Wanheda. She soon returned to her people but that was because of the bigger dangers that awaited them. Over and over, Clarke not only took on the responsibility of making the difficult choices that no one else would make, with very few like Lexa (Alycia Debnam-Carey) and Bellamy Blake (Bob Morley) truly understanding her.

But, of course, in the end, everyone did as we saw Raven Reyes (Lindsey Morgan) defend Clarke's actions and she, along with their other friends, chose to forsake transcendence so that they could be there for Eliza as they lived out the rest of their days on Planet Earth.

As far as the endings go, 'The 100' may have made some viewers happy, while disappointing others. One thing is for certain, however, and that is that Eliza Taylor is a star. Taylor had to bring to life one of TV's most complicated characters, one that became an anti-hero by the end of it all. She even powered through it even during a in the midst of filming for the final season — which could explain Clarke's reduced screentime in the final season — and gave viewers the Clarke Griffin they wanted and deserved to see. It is no wonder, then, that as long as 'The 100' ended with Clarke happy, most of us feel like we can let go of the other transgressions on the show.

After the final episode of 'The 100' aired, fans took to social media to applaud Taylor and thank her for her performance over the past seven years. One fan tweeted, "I was with you from the first moment. With you I had better and worse moments but the most important thing is that I was always by your side. Thank you Clarke Griffin and thank you Eliza Taylor for bringing such an amazing character to life. #The100 #MayWeMeetAgain." Another wrote, "In honor of the series finale of #The100, I wanted to thank @MisElizaJane for her portrayal of the indomitable Clarke Griffin. I started The 100 during season 2 & Clarke immediately became my favorite character. I admired her unwavering dedication, her leadership, her strength, and her compassion. Eliza portrayed her beautifully. Throughout brief moments of happiness and a tremendous amount of loss & despair, Eliza put her heart & soul into Clarke."
