He had dubbed the latter as a “sweetheart” adding there was no competition between the two rock bands. “The big difference, though, is, and sort of slightly seriously, is that the Rolling Stones is a big concert band in other decades and other areas when the Beatles never even did an arena tour, or Madison Square Garden with a decent sound system.” Mick added, “They broke up before that business started, the touring business for real. They [The Beatles] did that [Shea] stadium gig [in 1965]. But the Stones went on. We started stadium gigs in the 1970s and are still doing them now.”

‘The Beatles and The Stones are two of the greats’

The loyal rock music fans took to Twitter after Jagger passed comment on McCartney’s diss. “I adore the Stones, but what McCartney said was not wrong. Another user shared, “Everyone always says the Beatles were the greatest band of all time with little or no hesitation… Then I ask, which albums do you own. Silence.” One added, “F**k the Beatles. The Stones are the GOAT.” Meanwhile, one user concluded, “Lame attack. The Beatles and The Stones are two of the greats. Sir Paul should be better than that.”
