With the season finale taking it up a notch, Isiah was able to go back to 1988 and live out his destiny as Gavin. We know this for a fact because had he not succeeded, Josh and Izzy would have died. However, Lilly fails in her mission to go back in time. The episode also sees the disappearance of Lilly, Josh and Riley, as they stood close to a closing portal. Amidst all this chaos, Aldridge reveals to Scott a futuristic tower in the middle of 10,000BC, claiming she built it herself. There is certainly more to her character than meets the eye, and seeing that she is connected to Silas, maybe she shouldn't be trusted either. However, with Gavin, Izzy, and Ella back in 10,000 BC, they hope to reunite with Eve and Josh.

However, the end of Season 1 had fans more divided than ever. "I will say it. That La Brea show on NBC is terrible. Clunky dialog. Nonsense plot twists. Dude has a drug problem? BIG SURPRISE! I've never yawned so much, and I'm usually tired." tweeted a fan. "#LaBrea might go down as the worst written show in tv history… They took a really good idea and ruined it with its very very very bad writing. Actors I would be looking for a new job cause no way this train wreck gets renewed" added another. "By this point in a series, something should make sense. Something. One thing. But this mess is a mess. Not even cliffhanger messy, just messy. #LaBrea #LaBreaNBC" stated a fan.

However, that wasn't the same opinion across the board, as some fans were thrilled with the series as a whole and were excited to see how it played out. "la brea is so good that show starting to remind me of Lost and all the mysteries it had . Happy NBC renewed it I guess they learned their lesson to let shows grown an Audience after the whole manifest getting canceled then renewed . #LaBrea #NBC" added a fan. "Enjoyed watching #nbc tonight. #LaBrea had my mouth open for most of this season finale! Hope it comes back for a season 2! I enjoyed it!" tweeted another. "I'm surprised how much I enjoyed #LaBrea this season. It is the perfect escapist drama. I will admit though that I only started becasue I adore Jon Seda." wrote a user.
