He didn't get his pads on for active scrimmage sessions but went through the motions with dedication. On June 11, 2017, Ingram signed a four-year, $66 million contract with $42 million guaranteed with the Chargers, and ahead of the season, his contract was restructured where he was guaranteed payment of $14 million in the final year of his contract. This saw the linebacker pad up and return to practice.

In his eight seasons for the Chargers, Ingram has 49 sacks. Last season saw him register seven sacks and an interception. 'Hard Knocks: Los Angeles' airs on Tuesdays at 10 pm ET on HBO.
